Where is the studio? And where can we park?

You can find our studio at 538 Burnley Road, Crawshawbooth, Rossendale, BB4 8NE. There is plenty of parking on the main road, behind the studio and there are several side streets nearby, all within walking distance. Please just be mindful of signs for resident only parking, particularly as we have some elderly neighbours who require access for carers and transport.

What do I need to bring to the class?

Just you and your baby exactly as you are is enough! But if you would prefer to bring your own blanket, mat for yoga or towel & oil for massage then you're welcome to. See additional FAQ on messy play.

How old does my baby have to be?

It all depends on how you feel. Babies are welcome to Happy Baby Studio from newborn but depending on your healing after delivery you may prefer to wait until 6 weeks post partum, or longer if you had a caesarean. Listen to your body and when you're ready, we're ready for you! For some sessions you may wish to wait until baby is a bit more alert, for example sensory, in order to get the maximum benefits.

Do I need to book classes before attending?

Yes, we aren't currently taking payments in the studio so please book online before you arrive.

How much do the sessions cost?

Currently classes are booked in blocks of 4 consecutive weeks. This is so both you and baby have the opportunity to meet and get to know other parents and babies in the class with you. Each block costs £28, which works out at £7 per hourly session.
Hypnobirthing courses run for 5 weeks and cost £35.
Messy play runs for 4 weeks and costs £32

What do I wear?

Whatever you're comfy in! If you're booked onto Happy Baby Yoga then layers you can easily remove may be ideal.

Are there toilet and changing facilities at the studio?

Yes, we have a bathroom on both floors each with a changing table available to use for baby. You are also welcome to change baby in the studios too if you would prefer not to miss out on part of the session!

Do I need to bring my own oils to baby massage?

We do provide massage oil which you are  welcome to use and which is safe to use on your baby's sensitive skin. However, we may recommend for babies with eczema to bring their emollient cream with them to use as this may be a better option. We also recommend babies with severe allergies to bring an oil or cream they have used before. We do patch test our oils at the beginning of the session to ensure they are safe for baby, but if you would prefer to bring your own oils then please feel free to do so.

Can I bring my pram to the studio?

There is only a small amount of space for storage of prams at the studio and currently due to Covid-19 we do ask you to keep personal belongings to a minimum. If you are attending a baby yoga session you will be in the upstairs studio and there is no lift access so we recommend you just bring baby in a car seat or carry them.

Can I breastfeed my baby during class?

Absolutely! We want you and baby to feel comfortable and safe at Happy Baby Studio and no matter how you choose to feed your baby, we fully support you. Olivia and Briony are also breastfeeding mamas and so we completely understand, so please don't ever worry about trying to work a feeding routine around the class!

How many weeks pregnant do I need to be to do the hypnobirthing course?

Just like yoga it's never too early or late to start! The tools you learn on the course can be used right through pregnancy and even after you've given birth.

Messy Play: What do I need to bring?

For messy play sessions we recommend you bring your baby in something you don't mind getting messy and also pack a change of clean clothes for them. We do provide buckets of clean warm water and sponges for cleaning them down at the end of the session, so you may wish to bring your own towel and bath soap. We also recommend you bring a change of socks for yourself - you can thank us later!

Are the classes just for mums?

Absolutely not! We've had lots of aunties, nanas' and daddies all bringing babies to the studio. Everyone is welcome and bringing your baby to a class is an excellent way for family members to bond with baby! The more the merrier!
